A few weeks ago, I attended a workshop about investing - -about stocks & bond, generally a financial workshop on how to make more mooooola!
It was quite interesting & I'm glad I attended. Learned quite a bit of stuff, too. The presenter kept talking about this book, The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley & William Danko. She actually gave one away during the workshop, but I didn't win it. She should have given it to me since she used my large McDonald's iced coffee sitting right by me as an example of a way to save $2. She said that I could have been $2 richer had I not purchased my iced coffee and made my own. Whatever, Cheapy! So my punk ass said something like, yes, I'm $2 poorer, but I would've been $5 poorer if I had bought it at Starbucks. She probably didn't like my smart ass comment...that's probably why I didn't win the book.
ehhhh!
So fast forward to my lunch break today. I decide to go to Barnes & Noble. Guess what I find.... The Millionaire Next Door ! And not only is it on clearance...it's take an additional 75% off of the clearance price!! I paid $1.50 for a hardback version. tee-hee!
And you know what's so crazy? I found the book in the CHILDREN'S section stuck in between a couple of board books, not even in the clearance section. Isn't that nuts? You think my lucky pig has anything to do with this???
I've skimmed thru the book & read bits & parts of it after I paid for it.... It's kinda freaky -- PJ's grandpa has alot of the characteristics of your 'typical' millionaire next door! hmmmmm......I dunno if he is a millionaire, but alot of the stuff he does, surely makes one wonder.
anyhoo - -fun stuff! hopefully it'll be an interesting read. God knows we all need more $$$. Who knows? Maybe we'll be the next Millionaire next doors, huh? Wouldn't that be grand?
