After we unloaded the bags of groceries from the car, I told the hubs to bring the kiddo in since I was going to take a lil walk at the end of our cul-de-sac to check our mailbox. When I got back in the house, I was greeted by the hubs running down the stairs with a look of sheer panic on his face.
'Is Troy with you?"
'Uh ..no, you carried him in, remember?'
'I don't know where he is! He's not upstairs & he's not with you, so WHERE IS HE?!?'
We looked at each other and we must have thought the same thing, because before I could say anything, the hubs was out the door yelling for the kiddo.
By this time, I am freaked the hell out and pretty much panicked beyond all reasoning.
While he's outside looking for Troy, I head to the back sliding door - he usually likes to sit by there until we take him out to the backyard. Nothing! I check behind the couch since he sometimes likes to squeeze himself back there. Nothing!
The hubs comes back in and for some reason, we both head to the downstairs bathroom. I get to the door first and as soon as I open it, well, what do you know? There he is!! With a toothbrush in his mouth and another one stirring the toilet water! Yes, hand in the toilet stirring the water like it was something he was cooking! (He had opened up the drawer underneath the sink and found the spare toothbrushes.)
He looked up at us, gave us a smile & said, 'Maaaa-Maaa?
I was so relieved to find him that I didn't have the heart to tell him 'bad behavior!'
As soon as I calmed down a bit, I let the hubs have it. And can you believe he blamed me?!? He claims that since I was the last one to use the restroom, then it was my fault that Troy got in there while he was putting the groceries away and closed the door without him knowing. Stupid & dumb reasoning if you ask me. Even if I did leave the bathroom door open, I left Troy with him. Doesn't that make him responsible for the kiddo? Troy could have gone upstairs all by himself and stuck his finger in a socket instead of going in the bathroom, right? ON THE HUBS' WATCH!
But ehhhh, the bottom line is that Troy was found safe. When I think of what could have happened in those minutes we couldn't find him..... Scary!
Guess that's part of the joys of being a parent. The worrying is a constant. Oh my God! My worrying is going to be doubled!

Oh my goodness, I can only imagine the fear you had. Thank goodness he was safe (and helped you clean). Noah also likes to hide in the bathroom!
P.S. PJ's reasoning is lame. He needs to learn to multi-task. Put away groceries, and keep your eye on the kiddo!
Typical man!!! Accepts no responsibility and can't multi-task!!! LOL
...and he said I was just being hormonal! Thanks, I knew I wasn't the only one that thought his reasoning was hella lame ;)
