Like my sorority sister, Katie, I love flowers, but hate it when the hubs pays too much for them. (Katie - you probably don't remember, but I totally remember talking about this with you back when you were still an active and dating Brooks! You had volunteered to help out for extra credit & your car got broken into. And they stole your new Dooney & Bourke bag. Crazy, huh?)
Still wanting to give me flowers for Mamas day though, the hubs & the kiddo went and picked some roses from our rose bushes and trees. Not sure if I ever mentioned this, but we have 2 rose trees that were planted to commemorate each of the boys' birth. So I got roses from their trees. So sweet, huh?
We decided to celebrate on Saturday to avoid the crowds and so we went to Todai for some all you can eat sushi! It's the perfect place for me...sushi and they had a crepe station. Too bad they didn't have Nutella to slather all over the crepes. Still. It was gooooood.
Afterwards, we got some Beard Papa eclairs. They had some 'limited - just trying it out for mother's day' strawberry topped and white chocolate insides eclairs that we got 3 of. Hands down, this is the BEST one. Ever.

But the bestest thing about Mother's Day are those 2 lil handsome boys on the right - my sons and (though I don't have a picture) our lil angel baby we lost on July 24, 2006.
Sometimes I still can't believe I'm a mom.
For reals.
But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Nope, I'll take the automatic sprinkler system (times 2!), poopy diapers, the soon-to-be Terrific (uh-huh!) twos and cottage cheese spit ups any day. You know why? Coz I get to trade all that in for slobbery kisses, tight hugs - with pats on your back, the biggest smiles and hearing 'Love Yoooouuu!' yelled at the top of his lungs. (yea, the kiddo does that).
Oh! if you're wondering if I got anything other than the roses.... well, I got an IOU. The stuff I want is sold exclusively on Hawai'i only. I'd post a picture, but I can't find any online.
Here's a hint of what it is though - -I got one of 'em the year the kiddo was born when we were in Maui.
yay! yay!
