Ellen's Backlot Bash was yesterday and honestly, it was one hot mess!
It was overbooked and many (in the thousands!) were turned away...even after they had gotten phone calls from an Ellen staffer confirming their attendance.
My friend Joy and I were able to get in since my tickets were marked "Guaranteed". Didn't matter, because by the time the group we were in were herded into the backlot, there were no more seats for us!
We ended up finding a spot kind of underneath the big screen they had set up. We'd catch glimpses of Ellen and her guests onstage, but if there wasn't a big screen, it would have been a bust!
But it wasn't all that bad....
George Lopez was a HOOT! So funny! If you watched the show, we were kinda right by the trailer he came out of. You can't see us shorties of course, but we were there!
Unlike the sequence on the show, No Doubt came out last and ya know what??
No Doubt totally rocked it! Gwen Stefani was awesome! When I got home, I went searching high & low for my 'Tragic Kingdom' album...by far my favorite album of theirs. I was stoked that out of the 3 songs they did, they did, 'I'm just a girl' & 'Hey Baby' - love those songs!
It was crazy! It was hella hot! And my back got violated with a nipple rub from a lady with ....uhm... ample bosoms as she squeezed herself behind me.
Ya! it was gross! but it made for an interesting day.

LOL Heidi!! She was a lil bit taller than me, so maybe I should have said I got a shoulder rub? Either way, it was g-r-o-s-s!
