Holy Bat Rays,Bloggers!

We'd been planning to go to Sea World in San Diego ever since we heard about the 'buy one day, get the rest of the year free' deal. The hubs & I figured that the kiddo would enjoy seeing the fishees - -afterall, he's too young to fully enjoy a place like oh, say...Disneyland.
So, on Saturday, we joined my brother & his family & made the trek to San Diego. Perfect day to go! The sun was playing peek-a-boo the whole day so the park wasn't as crowded.
Here are some pics of our day...
My niece...stopping to smell the flowers....erm...flower The kiddo thinks watermelon licorice is yum-meee! (don't worry, he didn't eat any!)
Awwww! kisses from my ba-ba!OK - check out these awesome pics that I took of the bat rays...yep, I took 'em on my nifty camera! I stuck my camera AND my hand in a pool of stingrays...brave points for me!
After we left Sea World, we went to a Japanese place and to my surprise...they had - OKONOMIYAKI!! I had never had it...had only heard about it...and really this was the first place that I found that serves it. wheeee! And lemme tell ya... that thing was YUM!

So, I'm sitting there enjoying my 'Japanese pizza', perusing the pamphlet they gave us when we ordered it. My, my. They had the recipe to make okonomiyaki on it! And just our luck... Mitsuwa Market was in the same plaza!

We got all the ingredients that we wouldn't normally find at your neighborhood Vons...plus a bunch of other yummy Japanese food. And 4 grocery bags later, we were on our way back to Beaumont.

We were super duper tired from all that walking. The kiddo was TKO and didn't even wake up when we took him out of his carseat. What a great day!
