Weekend Reeeeewind!

Whew! the weekend flew by too quickly!

Once again, we found ourselves in beautiful San Diego this weekend. This time though it was for a Fiesta that honored the patron saint of my parents' home province in the Philippines. It was held (as always for us here in Southern California) at Silver Strand Beach.
It was sooooo nice to see all the aunties and uncles. crazy how I call them that even if I am not blood related to all of them....it's just how it is with the Filipino culture...any friend or neighbor or 'barrio-mate' of your parent's are automatically your 'auntie' or 'uncle'. Messed me up when I was younger. I thought I was related to everyone!

Anyhoo- back to the Fiesta.

The kiddo was a hit with all the aunties that had not met him yet. Lil Mr. Social - waving to everyone and saying "HI"... Yep! that's his first word. He's been saying it for a while now...I just keep forgetting to blog it... Anyhoo - He even got to meet my grandpa's cousin...that would kinda make her like a great-grandma, right? They kept calling him Baby Sumo! hehehe! They put my kiddo next to my cousin's son that just so happens to be a couple of months older....put it this way - - her son was wearing a size 6-9 month shirt and my kiddo was wearing a size 18 months. Yeah!? how did lil me, have such a big kid? Go figure!

Here he is waving to his fans! hehe!

So later in the afternoon, because the hub's had brought his bike and the kiddo's bike trailer they went for a bike ride. The kiddo LOVED it as always. Which makes me all the more determined to find my 24" beach cruiser! No fair that the hubs gets to hear the kiddo squeal with delight each time he pulls him in the baby trailer! hmmm... that $300 Townie cruiser is starting to sound like a justifiable expenditure.

After they came back from riding, we decided to have the kiddo put his little toes in the water. Another thing he loved! Made me smile that I have a lil beach lover. He'll do just fine if we ever get to take him to Guam or Hawaii.

We left around 5:30 pm because the hub's cousin had a basketball game at 8pm (yes - they are still with us). Needless to say, we were all pretty tired at the end of the night.

Sunday was perfect lounge day! Did practically nothing...woke up late...and hung out at home until around 3 pm when I was finally able to convince the hubs to take me to get some Korean food...I was craving me some kalbi! It was so yummy!
Look! even the kiddo thinks so!

Afterwards, we headed over to a crepe place. We got one with strawberries, bananas, Nutella, and creme brulee gelato. It was big time YUMMY! Well worth the $6.50 they charged us for it!
I think he was eyeing the crepe on the table next to us!

Bye Bye for now!
