No girly girl here!

It's no big secret - - by no means am I a girly girl. Never have been. Don't think I'll ever be one. I wear skirts and VERY minimal makeup (when I do get in the mood to put some on), but really, I'm just a no fuss type of gal. Heck! why do you think I've always had short hair? Wash, dry & go is how I am most mornings.

So now here I am - faced with having to help the hubby's 13 yr old girl cousin (the one we are babysitting) get ready for an event at school in which she has to wear a dress and heels. If I'm not a girly girl, then she is most def. NOT A GIRLY GIRL - she's a jock. A tomboy. She wants me to help her with her hair - - uhm my solution? Can ya just run a comb thru it?

Ok, ok, I know that's not a good solution. She's at that age where image plays a big part in her life....she has to look good, otherwise face the wrath of being the object of her peers ridicule.
So here was my (second) suggestion - - Can we just flat iron it & be done with it? Maybe put a headband or something cute that matches her dress?

But oh no! that won't do. Her mom wants us to take her to a salon and get her hair did. yep. Go to a salon & pay someone to shampoo & flat iron it. Or style it. Whatever.
Ok - fine, I'll call the girl that does my hair. crap. CRAP. CRAPPITY-CRAP! The salon is being renovated. No can do. The place is closed until Friday. The event is on Thursday.

Seriously, I don't know what the big deal is. She's not attending a prom. Or a dance. It's an assembly of some sort at the Catholic school she attends. She will be going back to class afterwards.

I am sooooo tempted to just flat iron her hair & be done with it.

UGGGGGHHHHH!
