Whew! After missing our flight on the way back to CA, we are back from Oah'u.
Unlike the majority of Hawai'i visitors, the hubs and I prefer Oah'u over the other islands. Why? well, for us it offers both fast paced and the slow life....so we were pretty stoked when Millen and Daniel decided to have their wedding at 'home' (for Daniel) on Oah'u!
We left on a Friday afternoon. We almost didn't make the flight out! The hubs promised me he'd get home from work at 12:30pm but instead got home at 2! We had to hustle it big time to LAX for our 5:30pm flight since we still had to drop off the car at the park and ride. The hubs kept saying that we'd get there on time - -yah, he totally didn't factor Friday L.A. traffic!
By the time we got the car parked and we were headed to the airport on the shuttle, it was 4:45pm. Luckily, I had checked us in online and printed our boarding passes, so we did curbside check in - barely made the cut off! And since we were so late, the porter told us to just gate check the kiddies car seats. ok - -so we start running to our gate....
Can you believe we had gate 61? We had to take an elevator down, run down a long a$$ hallway (we missed the shuttle that went back and forth the hallway), then we had to another elevator up...then run to the end of the gates since our gate was one of the last ones. All the while lugging 2 carseats, one rolling luggage and a backpack a piece! We were sweating up a storm by the time we got to the gate and I had twisted my ankle during the mad dash! But hey! we made it! yay!

Our flight landed around 8 pm, HI time, and after picking up our rental and popping our handy dandy GPS on, we were outta the airport area around 8:45pm. The kiddies were totally knocked out (TKO!) so we made a quick detour to Foodland to pick up some water and a gallon of milk ... and some ahi poke - yum!
By this time, I was feeling the hurt from twisting my ankle, so I called the Bride to be & apologized for not being able to make the girls night out. I felt sooo bad (Millen, I know you read this blog....so I'm apologizing again!)
We finally got to the hotel around 10ish, got into our room, laid the baby out on a bed, the hubs climbed in next to him and promptly fell fast asleep. As I was unpacking our bags, I couldn't help but snap this pic of the hubs and the baby asleep. talk about like father, like son!

The kiddo tried to wake them up, but no luck. So he just stared them down wondering why the heck they were asleep when were in Hawai'i. hehe!
So that was our first night in the land of Aloha. Stay tuned for part 2!
