The kiddo is now fully potty trained!
When the kiddo started showing interest in learning to use the potty a while back, I thought - Hey! I could try that one day method and we'll be good.
Not so. He met all the 'prerequisites' but it just didn't work for him since 1)he's not a stuffed toy kinda kid and 2) he didn't care much for a potty party.
I was kinda bummed, but I didn't want to force him.
So, we just worked with him and though some people would say that our method took way too much time, it didn't bother us. For the past few months, he'd always use the potty while he was with my SIL and even when we'd be out and about....but for some reason, he'd have accidents when he was at home.
But just last week (January 21st to be exact) the first thing he said when he woke up was- 'Mommy - don't like diapers anymore. I wear Transformer undawear, 'kay?'
uh- oookay.
and after I helped him put on a Transformer underwear, with all seriousness he told me,
'I no pee-pee Bumbee' (the underwear he had on had BumbleBee on it).
'ok - well how 'bout poo-poo?'
'ewwww yucky Mommy! that's 'custing (disgusting)'
And just like that, the kiddo became diaper free.
I don't know what clicked for him. It just did.
Sigh. Growing up so fast.

yey!!! go kiddo!!!
way to go!
Yeah, my Allie wasn't into the potty party or anything that particular book suggested. I went with a different book, which was also in one day but the methods were very different. I am so glad that he decided on his own, I think that shows what kind of person he'll turn out to be: one that knows EXACTLY what he wants. That is such a good thing:)
Aww, that's so cool :)
