Guess what I've decided to learn this year?

How to sew.

I hope I didn't bite off more than I can chew.  

The hubs thought I was joking when I told him a few months ago and even gave him hints that I wanted a sewing machine for Christmas.

Fast forward to January for my birthday- -still more hints since Santa seemed to have lost the memo.  (No sewing machine, but I did get a nice spa day - -no complaints there!)

So I figured, fine! I'll go out and buy one myself.

Nothing fancy...just a basic starter one since I'm a newbie.

My co-worker has been great giving me tips on learning how to work my new toy.  And she's even given me some super easy patterns (table runner...placemat...tote bag) to try out.

I don't think I'll be making prom dresses or anything in the likes of that anytime soon, so don't be on the look out for any 'wow' creations - hehe.

I can't wait til my mom arrives in May -- she's the type that doesn't use a pattern & it comes out looking what she intended it to be! I can only hope some of her sewing skills will rub off on me.
