Set adrift on memory bliss

Baby you send me...
Set adrift on memory bliss..

I love that PM Dawn song...however, I'm going to write about another song... Lame, I know...bear with me 'k?

Do you remember that Brian McNight song, Back at One?
One - you're like a dream come true...Two - -blah, blah blah?
Yah, well that song was really popular about 8 years ago. Pretty random that I know that, huh?
Well, not really.
The hubs and I met and started dating when that song came out. And no, it's not our song... oddly enough, it's his best friend & his wife's song. Dude, I wonder how she'd feel if we told her that was his song as well with the 2 girlfriends prior to her? Eh, ignorance is bliss.
But lemme just tell ya, the hubs and I erupted into gales of hysterical laughter at their wedding when they used this song for their first dance. What? We were already kinda tipsy, 'kay? And no worries we weren't anywhere near the dance floor. Our happy a$$es were parked at the bar for the free alcohol, living it up with the mother of the groom, singing 'Hotel California' with her and the bartender. Good times, good times!
Anyhoo - eight years ago... gosh! I've been with the hubs for that long. wow. And later this year, we'll be celebrating our 4 year anniversary. again, wow.
When I met the hubs, my weight was in the double digits...Can you believe that? I wasn't even a hundred pounds! I still have the dress I wore to my sorority formal from that year. I think my arm is the only thing that could go thru it. haha! Sometimes I miss my size 00 days, ok, not the 00, more like when I got to a size 4... someday..maybe again. heh.

Eight years ago I worked 3 jobs - 1)at a card store in the mall 2) as a substitute teacher! 3) as a student assistant at the college I attended. Oh and I was a full time student. Whew! where the hell did I find time to do all that??
Even with all that going on, I even found time to hang out with my sorority sisters! Like we all joke around, they are the best friends that money could buy. Seriously though, I've met some of the bestest girls when I became an Alpha Phi. And if you know me, I'm not what you'd consider to be your typical sorority girl. Not. at. all. Not even a lil bit. So glad I took that dare to join a sorority. Kind of a lame reason how I ended up being an A Phi, but still, it turned out for the very best.

I remember the month before I met the hubs, I was pretty convinced that I was going back to Guam at the end of the year. Funny how things work out.
Eight years later...looks like I've become a permanent resident of Southern California. And you know what? Life.... is good.
