ok - so we've been working on colors with the kiddo. We'll point to a color and tell him what color it is. He usually just giggles at us and walks away or yells out 'NOOOO!' as he shakes his head as we repeat saying the color. I thought it was hopeless to teach him his colors at this point.
But it turns out the lil booger did pay attention!
Recently, when I pointed to a lavender pillowcase and asked him what color it was, he promptly answered: purple! I didn't want to show him how excited I was that he got it right, so I tried again.
This time, I pointed at my white shirt.
'How 'bout this one, buddy? What color is this?'
He gave me look like, Dude Mom, are you serious? But once again, he correctly answered and said, 'WHITE!' with a big smile and hands up in the air!
yay!
So then, I pointed at the green wipes case.
'And this one?'
He paused for a second & pondered...then answered... 'MONNNNEY!'
yes, my child did NOT say green - -he said, money! hehe!
Oh but it gets better.
The hubs had been silently watching our little Q&A and after we finished cracking up at his answer for green, the hubs thought he'd try to get the kiddo to give us the correct answers again.
'Hey kiddo! What color is this?' as he pointed to something khaki colored.
ok - you ready for his answer?
With a big smile and a slobbery kiss, he answered..."MOMMY!"
yep! Mommy is brown. So now...what can Brown do for you? hehehe!
